West Wing

 

Alison McLellan was appointed Architectural Consultant and Project Architect to advise on the selection of the arts programme and to

re-design the interiors in light of the commissioned installations. Contemporary elements were deftly contrasted with the historic fabric of James Gibb's Grade I Listed building.

 

The successful integration of art and architecture provides moments of contemplation and escape from the immediacy of the hospital. The West Wing was opened ahead of programme in September 2004.
