National Army Museum

Form_art Architects were asked to develop a new entrance extension and visitor facilities for the National Army Museum, London, to cope

with the significant growth in

visitor numbers and to enhance

the visitor experience.

The museum sits within the Royal Hospital Conservation Area in Chelsea, adjacent to the

Grade II Listed Royal Hospital

Stables designed by Sir John Soane. Responding to its context, the design highlights the rhythm and modular nature of the surrounding buildings

by creating a contrasting series of lightweight spaces with varying and modulated degrees of transparency.
