Hackney City Farm

 

Hackney City Farm ran a competition to design a new information point and shop for an awkward triangular site at the farm's entrance, using only reclaimed materials.

 

Including the reuse of discarded scaffolding planks, our design abstracted the structure of a traditional timber-framed barn culminating in a cantilevered roof stretching over the adjacent garden.

 

Inside the merchandise is displayed on scaffolding planks slotted into the framed structure and opposite an arrangement of fruit and veg boxes fixed to the existing garden wall.
