Form_art were asked to investigate designing new contemporary gallery spaces within the Cultural Foundation, Abu Dhabi.

 

With an imposing triple-height exhibition space already in existence, the client required the self contained galleries to be incorporated into the existing structure and provide the necessary services to host contemporary exhibitions.

 

The new galleries were designed

to engage with an existing external colonnade facade and to allow views in and out of the spaces. Internal gallery partitions were made moveable to create a series

of changing, flexible spaces

and the gallery ceilings fold down

to allow indirect natural light to enter.
