Compton Verney

 

Alison McLellan was lead Design Architect for Stanton Williams on the Education Centre at Compton Verney. The building completed a programme of ambitious restoration and consolidation to the Grade I Listed house and outbuildings sat within Capability Brown's grand park.

 

The Education Centre houses cafeteria, classrooms and offices, forming a link between a series

of modest outbuildings and the

restored Victorian Coach house.

The contemporary new buildings

are subtly combined with those of Robert Adam's 1760's design, and

are assembled together to form

an intimate courtyard for eating

out and open-air classes.
